Well, I used to be a hardcore gamer who would play to win and have fun... Now I go for every achievement I can get. I hate it, even now I stop playing games that don't have achievements like GC games and N64 ones. I dislike the way gaming is moving to, but remember, the game companies want the maximum playtime to increase profits.
Also, Sony and Microsoft are just copycats, and for that they need to come up with more origional ideas to succed, like Nintendo did with the Wii.
It's sad that people disregard good games just because they don't have some type of reward system like the achievements or trophies. as for nintendo. someone is copying someone at any given time.
